Roads Closed for the Winter
If you are planning a trip to the King Range keep in mind that you will not be able to drive to Spanish Ridge, Kinsey Ridge, North Slide Peak Trailheads and Windy Point due to the seasonal closure of Smith-Etter Road and Windy Point Road. During the winter, which usually gets 100+ inches of rain, we close these two 4WD only roads to help reduce erosion problems that can occur with driving on steep and muddy roads.

I'd like some assistance with planning a 1 day run of the LCT. In fact I'd like to see if I can do a marathon distance so I may add a few miles maybe up to the general store in Shelter Cove. Tides are my main concern, do you think if I hit any of the tidally challenging beaches as they ebb, I can pass all of them in one tide swing or would I have to wait for the next tides? How much of the LCT is singletrack or bench cut trail versus sand?
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance.
